Genetic Engineering is a technology to make new invention to living thing. It also called as a genetic modification or alteration to living things such as plant, animal and human. In this blog, I will focusing on Plant Genetic Engineering or as known as plant modification.
Plant Genetic Engineering is a technology that create and use of genetically modified crops or genetically modified organisms which used to produce genetically modified food and materials with diverse uses. Plant Genetic Engineering also can be define as a modification of plant features that involve the process of changing and organism's genetic composition.
In Plant Genetic Engineering it also can help in increase crop yields, improve agricultural practices and can add nutritional quality to products.
- Increase crop yields - Plant Genetic Engineering can help in increasing crop yields. For example, one wheat grain can produces three grain in one time.
- Improve agricultural practices - It help in improving agricultural practices when this Genetic Engineering develop a lot of technique or technology to be apply especially to the farmers.
- Add nutritional qualities to products - For example the 'golden rice' that produce beta-carotene. Beta-carotene also can be converted to Vitamin A that help in eye health and for strong immune.
