The three mains Genetic Engineering are human, plant and animal. Different type of Genetic Engineering involve in different method to make it successful. In Genetic Engineering, 'Plant modification' much easier then others Genetic Engineering especially Animal Genetic Engineering.
It is based on three reasons. That are :
- Natural Transformation System
- Plant Tissue can be re-differentiate
- Transformation and regeneration are easy for variety plants
Natural Transformation System
Natural Transformation System or also known as Agrobacterium Tumefaciens. In Agrobacterium Tumefaciens it consists of soil bacterium that can infect wounded plant tissues and also can transferring a large plasmid. Food for the bacterium and plant hormones are two parts of the plasmid contains genes for he synthesis. With this transformation system it is the advantage to the bacterium because more food can gets produced.
Plant Tissue can be re-differentiate
Plant tissue can be re-differentiate because plant cells are grouped together into various tissues. These tissues can be simple, consisting of a single cell type, or complex, consisting of more than one cell type. Then, tissue cultured cells can also be included to re-differentiate into whole plants by alterations to the growth media.
Transformation and regeneration are easy for variety plants
As an examples, the studies or experiments of transformation and regeneration of Impatiens (Impatiens walleriana).
