1865 - The breeding of peas that discovered by Gregor Mendel had been published. This breeding had became the foundation of modern genetics.
1913 - A genetic map had been constructed by A. H. Sturtevant.
1931 - Direct physical recombination had demonstrated by Barbara McClintock and Harriet Creighton. This physical recombination is actually about the linking of DNA from different chromosomes and maize chromosomes had been used in this demonstration.
1973 - Ti plasmid had been identified in a bacteria (Agrobacterium tumefaciens) that used in Plant Genetic Engineering. This Ti Plasmid are used as a vector to introduce foreign DNA into plant cells.
1983 - GM Plants had been created by four separate groups of scientists. Three groups had inserted bacterial genes into plants and another one group insert a bean gene into a sunflower plant.
